Tolland County is a quiet, suburban expanse of land that's peppered with small towns. Each community has its own character and charm, along with a variety of unique restaurants and local shops.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping 

Tolland County has two shopping malls, including The Shoppes at Buckland Hills and The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk, located in Manchester and Windsor, respectively. The area is also home to a new Costco, and Whole Foods, along with the upcoming opening of a brand new Shake Shack, which is currently under construction.
 
Outside the mall area, you'll find amazing restaurants throughout, including Rein's New York-Style Deli in Vernon and Willington Pizza House in the town of Willington. Basil's Restaurant serves enormous portions of fresh Italian cuisine in Stafford, and people travel for miles to indulge in their fresh pasta.
 
In Somers, Sonny's Place offers a fun outdoor entertainment space where guests can take part in a variety of fun activities. Similarly, Nomad's Adventure Quest in South Windsor offers all kinds of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Things to Do

Tolland County and the area east of the river are packed with outdoor activities, festivals, and local farmer’s markets. For fresh produce and handmade products, visit the Coventry Farmers Market or the Ellington Farmers Market each week and meet your local farmers and neighbors. 
There are several festivals in Tolland County throughout the year, especially in September. 
 
The Hebron Harvest Fair and the Wapping Fair are fun events for the entire family, where visitors can see farm animals, enjoy carnival food, and listen to live music. The Four Town Fair is another September event that's been named the oldest continuous Agricultural Fair in Connecticut. Somers, East Windsor, Enfield, and Ellington all come together every year to show over 20,000 visitors a fun, festive time.

Although Connecticut is known for its fall foliage, Tolland County also hosts a Strawberry Festival each June. In South Windsor, visitors can enjoy free admission to this sweet spring festival that's been an annual event for over 40 years.
